Review:This was a very short and hilarious read.Even though it was of only 93 pages it manages to deliver the fun and humor it promises.I’ve read a few other books of Jody Gehrman and they were wonderful and hilarious. This book is also along the same lines.
Ruby Sugars works as a copywriter in an office full of thin and willowy people.Though she isn’t obese she is definitely curvy and she is constantly looked down upon by her peers because of this.Despite of being talented she doesn’’t get the recognition that she deserves. Her boss Felicity(aka The Stick) constantly puts her down because of her size and makes her feel inferior.

But there is a side to Ruby that they all don’t know about. Her grandma used to be a nightclub singer and she has inherited all these vintage dresses from her.And Ruby loves the vintage lingerie that she has.She wishes to unleash the sex kitten side of hers but is afraid to do so.

Soon she gets caught up in her best friend Wanda’s latest scheme which involves matching people based on their fantasies. One of her acquaintances has a thing for her 1950 pinup girls and she thinks that Ruby would be perfect for him.
Though Ruby initially refuses she soon agrees to this because of the frustration from her job. Thanks to Wanda she has an amzing, passionate night with “Lancer”.She wakes up with renewed self-confidence.So you can imagine her shock when she discovers that Lancer is actually Colin Wright one of the partners in her company(i.e. her boss)!!
On the side we also have a tiny subplot involving her BFF Wanda and her issues. It was very wonderful to see the transformation that ruby went through and the ending scenes where fantastic.I loved how she took down The Stick!!

Even though it was a short read it was well written.Short books like this are always a hit or miss.So I appreciate the author and her talent for pulling this off.The romance wasn’t rushed and the storyline flowed seamlessly.Overall this was a great read.
