Judging by the state of our hotel room, last night was wild. I just wish I could remember it.

REVIEW: This was an absolutely hilarious romance with a twist on opposites-attract.We have Julia, a fun-loving,sweet and sexy romantic writer who is in Vegas with her agent and friends for the Romantic Style Convention.On the other hand is the broody,cynical,rude divorce attorney Nate who is there for his friend Mike’s wedding.
They crash into each other(literally!) in the hotel lobby and Nate is a jerk to Julia just because he sees her violet suitcase and thinks she must be the peppy type(asshole much?).
“If Mr. Darcy was a modern man with a rolling suitcase, a stick shoved way up his ass, and no actual redeemable qualities, he might be this guy.”
Julia is attracted to him, but dismisses him due to his rudeness.But,they eventually meet again due to their friends and they all go off for a night of fun with the respective bachelor and bachelorette parties.
The next morning they wake up in bed(naked obviously) with TARDIS tattoos on their back,a half empty packet of glow-in-the dark condoms and very spotty memories.
So, they decide to investigate their activities from the night before and slowly piece together the events that occurred.
We are treated to the events that happen with occasional flashbacks from the night before and we see Nate and Julia fall for each other as Nate’s hard exterior slowly chips away.
Julia has just gotten divorced and is wary.Nate had been dumped by his long-term girlfriend because she met her “soulmate” and has turned into a condescending cynic who doesn’t believe in love.Initially they don’t like each other much but feel an intense attraction.Julia’s fun-loving ways begin to grow on him and he also learns to be adventurous.Though he is rude in the beginning,he realizes his mistake and apologises. By the end of the book he has had many epiphanies that help him understand himself and others.Nate is also a very loyal and selfless friend.
I loved the growth in the main characters especially Nate’s.You can’t help but love Julia with her nerdiness,joy and witty comments.The secondary characters also add humor and magnitude to the story.Tyler,Meredith,Shanna,Mike are all special in their own way.The sexy times were awesome.And the comedy even more wonderful!There is parrot-napping,live kidnapping,dancing in the fountains,creative use of glow in the dark condoms and many such surprises! ;)
“I just wanted to tell you” Julia mutters ”You’ve either got the barrel of a gun clamped between your legs or you’re very happy to see me”
“You partook of my virtue, m’lord,” I say, not meeting his eyes. When I get nervous, I go straight to Renaissance Faire speak. It’s just easier to handle reality when I imagine I’m in a corset with a turkey drumstick, I guess.
The ending was super-cute and realistic!Completely different from those of typical romance novels.
This is the first book of Lila Monroe’s that I’m reading, but it definitely won’t be the last.So, if you’re looking for a book with the right amount of humor and sexy, what are you waiting for?Go ahead and buy this!
