ReviewThough this is the second book in the First Impressions series, each book can be read as a standalone. This is my first book by Tawna Fenske and I fell in love with it!

In this novel, we have Jason Sanders who has just been appointed as the CEO of Urban Trax- a fitness equipment company. He used to run his own business before and he is the adventurous type.Miriam Ashley is our other protagonist is the co-owner of the PR firm that has been hired for the re-branding of the company. Now that a new CEO has been appointed, they have to fit him into the re-branding image and Miriam and Jason have to work together on this.

Even before there meeting in the boardroom, they get to know each other in a completely hilarious way, when Jason locks himself out of his house after a Tough Mudder Race and Miriam, his neighbor helps him out. They are attracted to each other from the very start.Jason makes no move to hide it. And though Miriam is reluctant in the beginning about mixing business with pleasure, she warms up to him and they begin spending a lot of time with each other.

Jason is a mixture of tough and sweet. He has a sister Ellie and a nephew Henry-who is in cancer remission-whom he absolutely adores. He is a loving brother and uncle, who has been helping out Ellie for the past few years as Henry's father left them.He is also super into adventure sports and activities. On the other hand, Miriam is a focused, witty and intelligent woman whose father just dies some time back doing mountain climbing. She still feels his loss and is reluctant to get involved with someone who spends their time risking their life in the same manner.

But Jason slowly breaks down her walls. She lets her hair down and goes spelunking, rafting, etc with him, while he gets etiquette lessons from her.She also spends time with his family and sees another facet of the daredevil badboy. The attraction between them is also intense. But, will Miriam accept a guy who loves adrenaline the same way her father did and will Jason finally let someone in who loves his family the same way he does?Read on to find out!

I love the characters in this book! The chemistry between Jason and Miriam was off-the-charts and well done!It had a perfect mixture of humor, romance and drama in it.I loved the fact there was no angst in this book.If the characters made mistakes, they quickly realized it and solved it.The secondary cast was also well done.Henry was adorable! If you're looking for a light-hearted,sexy,funny summer read, then this is the one for you!!

Excerpt

“Tell you what,” he said. “You give me a few pointers on polish and professionalism, and I’ll give you free outdoor adventure tours.”
“Outdoor adventure?” She wasn’t surprised to hear that the words emerging from her mouth had the same intonation she’d use if she said “Pap smear” or “Ebola.”
“Thanks, but no thanks,” she said, flipping open her laptop. “But actually, I can show you some of my favorite fashion websites if you want to get some ideas for professional attire and—”
“Wait, why don’t you want an outdoor adventure?”

Miriam stared at him and wondered whether to offer the real story or the one that seemed most obvious.
“I’m a city girl through and through, in case you hadn’t noticed,” she said, settling for the surface story.
“Right, but you’re a city girl who’s managing the account for the nation’s second-largest outdoor gear retailer,” he pointed out. “Don’t you think you should be at least a little familiar with our products?”
“I am familiar with your products,” she said. “I did intensive market research using the reports from—”
“No, no, no,” Jason interrupted. “Reports aren’t the same as actually experiencing it. When was the last time you played outside?”

Miriam tamped down the panic that threatened to bubble its way up from her gut. It wasn’t his fault. He couldn’t possibly know she’d spent the last year avoiding all things outdoorsy.

Especially men with an adrenaline habit.

She swallowed hard and forced herself to answer his question. “I went outside on Saturday,” she said. “I walked out to get the mail.”
Jason shook his head and looked at her like she’d lost her mind. “Come on, I’ll start you off easy. Maybe some spelunking or something.”
“I don’t know what spelunking is, but unless it’s a drink, a sex act, or a fashion designer, I’m not interested.”
He cocked his head to the side. “Wait, so you would be interested if spelunking was a sex act?”
“I was being glib,” she said, tossing her hair and making note of the eagerness in his expression. “Whatever it is, I’m guessing it’s outside my comfort zone.”
“Exactly why you should do it.” He grinned again.
“Spelunking is cave exploration. I have all the gear, and there’s a really amazing cave I know of just a couple hours away. Come on, it’ll be fun.”
“I think you and I have very different definitions of fun.”

“I doubt that,” he said. His voice was low and molten, or maybe that’s just how Miriam heard it. Either way, it sent a shiver down her spine.
