Jameson
A Brothers in Ink novel
Jameson O’Rourke owns the primo tattoo shop in town, one he’s worked hard to build. And in his industry, he’s the current ‘it’ boy, the reigning King of Ink. His career is on fire, so hot television has even come calling. And as a result, the town bad-boy has now become the town’s favored son.
Ava Hightower needs his face on her flyers, if she is to have any hope of her charity gala and bachelor auction being a success. Unfortunately, they get along like oil and water. He’s a hardheaded, controlling jerk, and she’s already had one run-in with the man. Asking him, of all people, for help is the last thing she wants to do.
Not exactly a match made in heaven.
Jameson doesn’t think too highly of Miss Hightower, either.
To him, she’s just an uptight, stuck-up know-it-all; a little Miss Goody-two-shoes. Not in a million years was she the type that he’d have anything to do with. Unfortunately she is also on the city council, and therefore has the ability to screw with his business.
He needed her help once before, and she shot him down.
Now the tables are turned, and she needs his help. Well, my, my, sweetheart, karma can be a cold-hearted bitch.
But, hey, maybe he could work this to his advantage.
You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours, and all that crap.
So they cut a deal. One he has no intention of ever having to fulfill, because he plans to make it impossible for her to keep her end of it.
She thought she could outlast him. Guess again, sweet thing. She may be a stubborn woman, but she’s met her match. And he has no intention of letting her win this game.
Be warned, sweetheart, because the King of Ink has plans to push your limits in ways you’ve never imagined.

REVIEW
In Jameson, the first novel in the Brothers in Ink series, we have two equally stubborn and controlling protagonists. This was a great hate-turns-to-love story!
Jameson and Ava haven't gotten along with each other from the time she got the city council to vote against Jameson's request to reserve parking spots for his use in front of his shop. But, now she needs his help to gain donations and publicity for a charity gala that is very important to her.Since Jameson is an up and coming tattoo artist featured in magazines and TV shows, the ladies love him.Having him as a part of the bachelor auction would help in boosting the ticket sales greatly and bring in donations for the gala.
Jameson doesn't really like Ava, whom he considers uptight. When a misunderstanding(and meddlesome brothers) causes flyers(about the auction) with his face to be posted all around town,Jameson is pissed.Upon seeing the ticket sales, Ava has know choice but to beg for Jameson's help. But Jameson is obviously not ready to do it for free.So they make a deal, where Ava(who runs an employment agency) will send an appropriate receptionist for his tattoo shop and in return he will participate in the auction.
Too bad Jameson has no intention of fulfilling the deal.He sends back all the temps with one complaint or the other.Ava has no other option but to fulfill the deal by working as the receptionist herself. She is determined to make it through the six weeks no matter how rude Jameson is to her.As they begin to work with each other, they lock horns at every turn. They are both obstinate and proud. But, neither can deny the attraction that they feel towards each other. So, will Ava manage to stick to the deal and get Jameson to fulfill his end of the bargain?Or will Jameson drive Ava away with his rude behavior and controlling tendencies?
The slow development of the relationship from mutual dislike to a wonderful connection between Ava and Jameson was very well done. They've both had difficult lives, where they have lost people dear to them and have had to step in as the eldest members of the families.I loved the Rourke brothers!!Such an amazing bunch!Their interactions were hilarious and the way they cared for each other was wonderful.I loved Ava and Jameson's backstories!
My only complaint would probably be that at times the writing felt a little choppy. When moving from one chapter to another I felt that the book lacked a certain flow. Also, it was mentioned that James was in love with Crystal(who, I guess is featured in the author's Evil Dead MC series). But, the story behind it or what Jameson felt was never clarified.
Nevertheless, this was a great book with the perfect amount of tension and well written characters! Can't wait to read Maxwell's book next!! :D
