As much as I loved Brooke and Heather in the previous books, I think Alexis has been my favorite of them all. I've been waiting for her book ever since the series started. Alexis- the woman who started Wedding Belles from a small Harlem apartment and brought it to such great heights, the one who is always cold and aloof. I was so curious to know more about her and her story. I am glad I got to do that with To Love and to Cherish. LL has created a wonderful story which left me breathless,swoony and happy.
Alexis has worked hard for six years to get the Wedding Belles to where it is now.She hasn't had any meaningful relationships in this time and hasn't wanted to do.She had always longed for a life,where she would balance a successful career and a beautiful family.She'd almost had that in the past, before her ex fell in lov with her sister.Since then, she's put all her energy into the Wedding Belles and it has paid off.By her side through it all has been Logan Harris,the silent partner in Wedding Belles who invested in her dream when noone else believed in her.
Logan has been in love with Alexis from the day he laid his eyes on her at the bar where they met.He impulsively invested in her and her dream.He has supported her and been a good friend, waiting silently for her to notice him.But she has never considered anything more than a friendship, and she has built walls around herself so high that that keep even Logan at a distance.It is clear as day to everyone except Alexis that Logan is in love with her.His parents back home have also been pressuring him to come back to England, and take back the reins of their family business.He has made a life for himself in New York, which is more of a home to him than England, but the thing that holds him back the most is his love for this stubborn woman who won't even notice him.He has waited for six years and isn't sure how much longer he can keep doing it.
Now that Alexis is back in the dating game, he might have a chance, but when she makes it clear that she doesn't even consider him as an option he has to figure out his next move.He decides to give himself one month to either win Alexis' heart or go back to England.With her sister's wedding coming up and old pains making a reappearance, Alexis has to decide whether she will give Logan a chance or lose what could surely be the love of a lifetime.
I loved Alexis and Logan in this book.Alexis was independent,intelligent but so damned obsinate!She wasn't that easy to love especially when she kept hurting Logan.time and again.But we could see it from her point of view too.She's closed off herself so much in her fear, that she thinks noone really knows her.But many people do and they would help her if she just let them in.She refuses to acknowledge the fact that Logan is in love with her and that she could be happy with him.
Logan was extremely patient.But even he has limits.I love how he slowly turned Alexis' head around and made her give hima chance with some headgames.But he didn't wait around forever.When it came to a breaking point, he acknowledged his failure and gave up on his love.And I loved how Alexis won him back.They were so good together!! Brooke,Heather,Seth and Josh were ready to help Logan.Loved seeing the couples in this book again!The characters were complex and well crafted with a story that flowed seamlessly.
Though I am sad to see this series come to an end, I loved meeting these characters and reading their beautiful stories.I'm sure Alexis and Logan will remain in my mind for a long time after this.Till then I'll be scouring the shelves for another great romance read that will hopefully leave me as giddy and satisifed this one did!If you guys, have any recs do send them my way! :D
