Synopsis:
A Sexy Multicultural (British Indian) Romance
Some of us have to choose; family, or love?
When Mandi (Mandeep Garg) is forced to move back in with her conservative parents, she’s preparing to say goodbye to all the freedoms she’s enjoyed so far: no curfews, no questions, and the freedom to date or hang out with whoever she wants. She spends her last night of independence with Callum, whom she has only just met. Sparks fly almost immediately. Can she say goodbye?
TV Chef Callum Byrne is used to getting what he wants, both from relationships and life in general. From his first meeting with Mandi, he realises she’s refreshingly different: his fame doesn’t impress her much. She tells him she’s only looking for one night of fun. Will he let her go?
Chance Encounters is a series of stand-alone contemporary romance novellas set in jolly old England, following a set of loosely connected people as they find love in unexpected places. Can love conquer all, from class differences to age gaps? One-click and find out.

REVIEW

Another great read from Hedonist Six!If you've been following Hedonist Six's writing, then you would know that she writes sensual, realistic romance with ordinary characters just like us!I've read almost all of her books and she has never disappointed me.Only A Taste was another beautiful book!

On one hand we have Mandi(Mandeep Garg) who comes from a traditional, conservative Punjabi family. She has enjoyed life in her college and has been rooming with her bestie-Alice.But, she hasn't been able to find a job, so now she has no other option. She has to go back to her childhood home, stay with her family and work at her family friend's office! She has one day left and plans to make the most of it by going out with Alice and enjoying. On the beach she meets Callum- who seems somewhat familiar to her and he asks her out on a date.

Callum is a famous TV chef who is opening up his own restaurant. But, he is quite used to getting what he wants. So when he meets Mandi, he is immediately attracted to her and is taken by her.The more time he spends with her, he realises how different she is from the women he usually meets! But sadly all Mandi wants is one night. Will they be done with each other or will fate give them another chance?

I loved Mandi and the descriptions of her family.Considering the fact that I am Indian, I appreciate the characterisations and can relate to them.Though not all Indian families are super conservative these days, many still follow traditions and arranged marriages do still happen. When compared to a freer setting like Britain, one can easily understand why Mandi feels restricted especially when she has a set of parents who don't completely understand her!But on the other hand I love her dadi(grandmother)! What an awesome lady!LOL

Mandi and Callum's relationship was cute though a little rushed. They have an undeniable connection but somehow I wasn't satisfied.I loved the efforts that Callum took to win over Mandi and her family. He was really sweet and understanding. But I think the author could have spent more time developing their relationship as I didn't really feel it and couldn't fully understand why they wanted to be with each other.
Though I loved Mandi's family and the way the author got the Punjabi family style right, I wasn't really blown over by Callum and Mandi's relationship.I know I shouldn't compare but I think I live the previous novellas in this series more.
But, this is undoubtedly a great, short read featuring a cute, intercultural romance!

ABOUT HEDONIST SIX

hedonist-six

Call me “H.” or Hedonist if you prefer. I’m a Romance writer based in London and I’ve always been a dreamer, though it didn’t occur to me to write down the stories I kept dreaming up until 2012. You’ll not find flowery language and poetry in my work. What you will find though is believable characters, none of whom perfect, going through life and trying to find happiness. Just like the rest of us. I first started writing because I craved to see more of “my kind of books” on the shelves. In any scenario, you’ll find me rooting for the underdog. The (emotionally) scarred hero who hasn’t really had much (or any) luck in love. The shy office worker who wants to pursue the man of her dreams, but hasn’t quite mustered the courage yet. All my characters are beautifully flawed and messed up, in a way that makes them perfect for one another.
