Kennedy's life is going just the way she planned. Her matchmaking business is finally taking off and she has the edge over her competitors with a special matchmaking software. She also has the perfect set of friends and a perfect boyfriend. Except for the fact that she isn't so sure about the perfect boyfriend part?

When she gets trapped in an elevator in Vegas, the claustrophobia and a bottle of champagne lead her to confess her doubts about her relationship to the handsome stranger stuck along with her. They part with a kiss that leaves her shocked.But, now, months later she is completely fine with her relationship(or she thinks she is).After all her own matchmaking software can't be wrong about the fact Justin is the one for her right?

Justin is now her fiance and they will be off to his hometown to visit his family for the holidays finally!

Matt Ellis has given up a lot for his family. He is quite happy running the family business, but sometimes one does wonder whether he could have done more if he had not given up his plans when his dad died. He doesn't think Justin is that grateful, since Justin spends most of the time working and hardly ever visits the family. Now, that he is bringing along a fiancee for Christmas, he is quite skeptical. Imagine his surprise when he sees that his future sister-in-law is the woman he kissed in the elevator in Vegas!

Kennedy is also quite shocked by finding out that Matt is Justin's brother. The fact that she can't stop thinking about the kiss doesn't help. Justin also goes back to the city early instead of spending time with his family since he has work to deal with. Now Matt has to 'babysit' Kennedy while he fights his attraction to this infuriatingly, stubborn woman.

Kennedy has never had a stable family and her cousin is her only close relation. When she meets Justin's family, she is quite happy and is welcomed by his mother and sister.Spending the holidays with them and the surly Matt also is enjoyable and gives her a sense of warmth that she has never had before. But, noone can deny the fizzle of attraction between her and Matt once they spend more time together, adding to the doubts about her almost non-existent relationship with Justin.

Will she be ready to accept the fact that the software that the future of her business is based on might be wrong? And will she miss out on the chance to have a family that she has always dreamed of?

I really loved the main characters in this book! I think Matt was my favorite! Even though he is a little bit grouchy in the beginning, he warms up and is so sweet by the end. I loved the fact that he tried to do the honorable thing and always put his family first! The connection between him and Kennedy was amazing. Though they spent a few weeks together, the development of their relationship was completely believable.

Kennedy was such a likable heroine too! I could emphatise with her and understand the reason why she held onto the relationship with Justin for long. But sometimes what we need is completely different from what we think we want and she realises that too!

There is absolutely no cheating in this book and both the characters were quite serious about their decisions and repercussions. And I'm also glad Justin wasn't made out to be a complete asshole. He had his bad moments, but he was also human, just not the right one for Kennedy. I hope we get a book about him.

I loved the Ellis family. What a beautiful relationship! Kennedy's family and friends were really supportive secondary characters too! The writing and the plot flowed really well. The epilogue was the best part! This book left me with a smile on my face and a satisfied feeling! Its really good that its releasing during the holidays too, I think you guys would definitely love it! Looking forward to read more from this author in the future!

EXCERPT

Kennedy grew silent again. She began chewing her bottom lip. His eyes automatically dropped to her mouth, and for the forty-eighth time since being trapped together, he thought about kissing some sense into that anxious brain of hers.

“You’re right.” Her words were so soft, he wasn’t sure she’d spoken them. “He’s wonderful. Really awesome. But honestly…” She gave him a sharp if slightly tipsy look. “I’ve never said this to anyone, so you can’t tell a soul.”

He gave her a droll look. “Who am I going to tell?”

She stared him down for several seconds as if judging his sincerity. “Cross your heart?”

“Cross my heart,” he repeated, making the motion against his chest.

“Okay.” She bit her lip. “It’s just that…sometimes I doubt we’re meant for each other.”

“Really?”

“Yes. I know it’s crazy,” she murmured. “Especially since I can’t afford for my software to be wrong.”

Before he could respond, the lights overhead flickered. Her head whipped up toward the ceiling. “Thank God!” The elated expression on her face reminded him of a child watching fireworks go off. “We’re finally going to get out of here,” she squealed.

“Yeah…awesome.” Matt swallowed hard. He should be happy, too. Why the hell wasn’t he happy? He’d finally be out of this cramped elevator and away from this anxiety-ridden woman with her boyfriend issues. But instead, all he could do was bank down a strange sense of disappointment at the thought of her walking through those elevator doors and him never seeing her again.

He stood first then held out his hand to help her up. Her palm met his, and he tugged just as the elevator began to move again, causing them to lose their balance. His back slammed against the wall, and she fell into his arms.

“Nice catch,” she said with a laugh, obviously still feeling the effects of the champagne.

Matt held on to her, his heart beating wildly. Having her in his arms ignited all kinds of thoughts, all kinds of feelings. Naughty thoughts. Good feelings. His gaze captured hers for a long moment until eventually her smiling face grew serious, too. Then his conscience tapped him on the shoulder.

What the hell do you think you’re doing? it said. You’ve both been drinking. And she has a boyfriend.

He’d always hated his conscience.

“Matt?”

Matt didn’t move. The elevator was going to open soon. They would be free to leave separately or leave together. There was still a choice. Growing up, he had always been the one to toe the line. Do what was right for everyone else in his life. But so help him, he didn’t want to do that this time. Maybe it was the alcohol, but he wanted her. True, the woman had a boyfriend—a neglectful boyfriend—but still, there were rules for that sort of thing, weren’t there? Like what if…

Screw it.

He kissed her.
