A NYT bestselling author kicks off a new Regency series of "irresistible romance and a family of delightful scoundrels" as a woman looking to recover a stolen painting accidentally kidnaps a duke instead. (Eloisa James)

Chloe Wynchester is completely forgettable—a curse that gives her the ability to blend into any crowd. When the only father she's ever known makes a dying wish for his adopted family of orphans to recover a missing painting, she's the first one her siblings turn to for stealing it back. No one expects that in doing so, she'll also abduct a handsome duke.

Lawrence Gosling, the Duke of Faircliffe, is tortured by his father's mistakes. To repair his estate's ruined reputation, he must wed a highborn heiress. Yet when he finds himself in a carriage being driven hell-for-leather down the cobblestone streets of London by a beautiful woman who refuses to heed his commands, he fears his heart is hers. But how can he sacrifice his family's legacy to follow true love?

I just finished reading a book from a new-to-me author a few days back and I have to admit that the Wynchesters in The Duke Heist by Erica Ridley have won me over with their antics! They're such a fun, quirky bunch of siblings who were always there for each other!⁣
They were brought together when they were adopted by Baron Vanderbean(who has now passed away) and though society might not accept them, they've managed to carve a place for themselves with their talents. And they've been looking for a way to retrieve a piece of artwork(of sentimental value), after it was stolen by the duke who'd initially sold it to them. Despite their efforts to contact his heir and the current Duke of Faircliffe, they've been snubbed repeatedly, so Chloe and her siblings decide to take things into their own hands by stealing it back in a scheme that involves many shenanigans and cute kittens! Except she ends up accidentally kidnapping the duke too, who thinks that she wants to compromise him🤣 lol⁣
This book was quite funny and sweet at the same time! I loved how both Chloe and Lawrence actually saw each other for who they were. Chloe is used to being forgettable and though she might have learned to use that to her advantage, she longs to be seen. And Lawrence has his duties to his dukedom which is on the verge of falling apart because of his father's debts. He needs to marry someone with a fortune but noone sees beyond his facade either. I really loved the relationship between these two! But the third act drama had me annoyed at Lawrence but nvm I guess he's forgiven. And I love that he got to be an honorary Wynchester too! I'm quite excited to read the other books in the series now(book two is an f/f romance between Tommy and Philippa 😍)!⁣
Do read this one if you're looking for a hilarious and sweet HR book with an amazing 'found family ' too!❣️✨
