True love is at stake in this charming, debut romantic comedy.

Cassie Greenberg loves being an artist, but it’s a tough way to make a living. On the brink of eviction, she’s desperate when she finds a too-good-to-be-true apartment in a beautiful Chicago neighborhood. Cassie knows there has to be a catch—only someone with a secret to hide would rent out a room for that price.

Of course, her new roommate Frederick J. Fitzwilliam is far from normal. He sleeps all day, is out at night on business, and talks like he walked out of a regency romance novel. He also leaves Cassie heart-melting notes around the apartment, cares about her art, and asks about her day. And he doesn’t look half bad shirtless, on the rare occasions they’re both home and awake. But when Cassie finds bags of blood in the fridge that definitely weren’t there earlier, Frederick has to come clean...

Omg this was so much fun!❣️✨ I read a lot of pnr, so it was nice to meet a vampire mmc who was actually very sweet and gentlemanly without being the typical tortured grump haha😂 Not that I mind them, but this was a refreshing change!🧛⁣
Cassie is an artist who's been trying hard to make ends meet and she stumbles upon a rental listing which seems too good to be true(I'd have been suspicious too if the rent was that cheap haha😂). She decides to take a chance and meets Frederick who might be a bit... unusual at first and moves into his apartment. He sleeps during the day, doesn't have pots and pans and is kinda old fashioned. Everything's going well as they slowly grow closer while communicating through handwritten notes and other exchanges. But one day Cassie gets a huge shock when she opens the fridge and finds a lot of blood bags 👀👀😂⁣
I found this story very cute and hilarious! It was kinda different from what I'd been expecting but surprisingly good at the same time! Cassie was very passionate about her art while being so helpful and hardworking. But Frederick stole the show for me! He was so earnest and unintentionally funny lol😂 He had a hard time fitting into the 21st century but he was trying his best! I'm glad that Cassie helped him with a lot of things and I loved how their relationship went from roommates to friends to something more! The subplot with his mom and the other stuff was quite bonkers but fun(reminded me of a Kerrelyn Sparks book!) I loved Reginald too and I hope we get his book too(I'm wondering if I've guessed the accountant's identity correctly!)😆⁣
Overall, this was a fun and low-angst vampire rom-com and that was exactly what I was in the mood for so I loved it!❣️✨
