The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship, and get out. But her fortunes change in an instant when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why -- or even who Tobias Hawthorne is.
To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man's touch -- and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes. Unfortunately for Avery, Hawthorne House is also occupied by the family that Tobias Hawthorne just dispossessed. This includes the four Hawthorne grandsons: dangerous, magnetic, brilliant boys who grew up with every expectation that one day, they would inherit billions. Heir apparent Grayson Hawthorne is convinced that Avery must be a conwoman, and he's determined to take her down. His brother, Jameson, views her as their grandfather's last hurrah: a twisted riddle, a puzzle to be solved. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive.

Guess who finally got around to reading The Inheritance Games haha?😆 I've seen these books everywhere for so many years and had them on my tbr for soo long lol. And I finally finished reading book one recently and I really enjoyed it!♟️
Avery Grambs has a plan to work hard, finish high school, get a scholarship and escape. But her life changes completely when she's told that she's been named in the will of Tobias Hawthorne, an eccentric billionaire she'd never heard of before. She stands to inherit most of his estate and a looot of money but for that she needs to stay in Hawthorne House for a year. The other Hawthorne family members also live there and it's no surprise that they're not pleased to have been disinherited. One of the grandsons - Grayson thinks that she might be a conwoman and is suspicious of her while his brother, Jameson is fascinated that there's a new puzzle to solve. As they try to find out the reason why Avery was chosen, it also becomes increasingly clear that someone wants her out of the picture and she has to find her way out of this deadly game!
This was such a fun read with an engaging mystery! I loved Avery's character - she's strong, determined and quick on her feet. I also see a love triangle brewing in this one but I haven't picked a ship yet lolol 😂 There were quite a few twists and turns and I had fun trying to figure out the clues along with the characters. I'm very excited to read the rest of the trilogy and the spin off books(whose finale comes out in July) and I'm glad that I don't have to wait for each release now 😆
