The captivating sequel to the Gothic-infused Belladonna, in which Signa and Death face a supernatural foe determined to tear them apart.
A duke has been murdered. The lord of Thorn Grove has been framed. And Fate, the elusive brother of Death, has taken up residence in a sumptuous estate nearby. He's hellbent on revenge after Death took the life of the woman he loved many years ago...and now he's determined to have Signa for himself, no matter the cost.
Signa and her cousin Blythe are certain that Fate can save Elijah Hawthorne from prison if they will entertain his presence. But the more time the girls spend with Fate, the more frightening their reality becomes as Signa exhibits dramatic new powers that link her to Fate's past. With mysteries and danger around every corner, the cousins must decide if they can trust one another as they navigate their futures in high society, unravel the murders that haunt their family, and play Fate's unexpected games—all with their destinies hanging in the balance.
Dangerous, suspenseful, and seductive, this sequel to Signa and Death's story is as utterly romantic as it is perfectly deadly.
I read Belladonna last year and I fell in love with Signa and Death.
So I was very excited to read Foxglove too and it definitely didn't
disappoint me! It had the same beautiful writing and the gothic
atmosphere too but with a new mystery and newer characters!
Foxglove starts with the murder of a duke and Signa's uncle - Elijah
Hawthorne becomes the major suspect and is arrested for the murder.
Death's brother Fate has also arrived with his own agenda that
involves Signa. And in order to save Elijah, Signa might have to play
Fate's games while holding on to her relationship with Death. Signa's
cousin Blythe is also pulled into all of this as she's determined to
protect her father and she's in for a huge surprise when she discovers
things about Signa that she hadn't known about before.
Anyway without giving any spoilers this one was a great sequel to
Belladonna. Signa has come a long way from the lonely, wary person
that she was at the start and I've loved watching her grow and find
her own family and friends. She realizes many things and becomes even
more confident as the story progresses. Death was the perfect love
interest and I couldn't get enough of their scenes(I definitely wanted
more😆). And thankfully there wasn't a love triangle in this one(I was
mildly worried about that) but it went in a different direction and
I'm quite happy about that 😆 The murder mystery wasn't at the
forefront of this one but was still intriguing. I loved seeing the
chapters from Blythe's pov and getting to know more about her
character. Fate made this book more enjoyable too😂! That ending was
perfect and I'm now very excited for Blythe's story in Wisteria!
