ARC Review : Bed Me Earl by Felicity Niven

Bed Me Earl by Felicity Niven
Series : Bed Me #3
Genre : Historical Romance
Publication Date : November 9th, 2023
A rake falls for a beautiful recluse.
But it turns out being bad is all he’s good for.

A tall maiden with nothing to lose. Caro knows she will never marry, never bear children. But she will seduce the first man who asked her to dance a dozen years ago. She will be bedded by the Earl of Burchester once in her lifetime. And as fate would have it, the gorgeous man is just down the hall. Alone. Naked in a bed. He wouldn’t refuse her request, would he? Surely, his reputation means he takes all-comers.

A shorter-than-average rogue who is about to lose his mind. And his heart. Phineas Edge knows what he likes. And right now, he very much likes the darling girl who just showed up in his bed at his friend’s country house. True, she doesn’t say much, but what happens between the two of them has a magic he would do anything to experience again. Even if it involves a ring and a church. And falling in love.

This is my newest favorite in the Bed Me series and probably the best one(I might be biased but how could I not love Phineas and Caro?😆). I'm so glad I discovered this author a few months back because honestly her writing is so amazing. It's quite rare to find historical romance books with such unique characters who feel so real while having the perfect amount of romance, steam and emotional development! ⁣
Both Caro and Phineas stole my heart in this one! I just wanted to give Caro a big hug, put her in my pocket and protect her forever 🥺 She deserves the best and I'm glad that Phin gives her all of that and more. Caro has spent most of her life in a silent and isolated manner - because of her speech impediment and her emotionally abusive father. Though she might have self esteem issues, she is resilient and outspoken about her opinions at times😆 and she's bold enough to seduce her brother's friend, the Earl of Burchester - Phineas when he's staying at their estate. And Phineas falls hard despite being rebuffed many times 😆 He's the ultimate rakish himbo who's head over heels in love.⁣
And though they might be opposites - Caro is tall, silent and finds it hard to express her emotions while Phineas is shorter, jovial and talkative - they make it work beautifully. Phineas works hard to woo her and does his best to understand her even when she's closed off. I loved watching him work his way past her walls and how Caro began to slowly trust him too. Also, Caro has a thing for guys who wear spectacles and I loved that🤓😆⁣
On the other hand, Caro is very intelligent and talented at managing finances. While Phineas might prefer not to care about these things, she brings some much needed levelheadedness that's required in some situations. I think these two were perfect for each other and I loved watching Caro realize that too! And loved the ending+epilogue! This was pretty much perfect in my opinion and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a character driven story that has the perfect amount of steam and romance!❣️✨

Felicity Niven is a hopeful romantic. Writing Regency romance is her third career after two degrees from Harvard. And you know what they say about third things? Yep, it’s a charm. She splits her time between the urban South in the winter and the cool Great Lakes in the summer and thinks there can be no greater comforts than a pot of soup on the stove, a set of clean sheets on the bed, and a Jimmy Stewart film on a screen in the living room. She is the author of The Bed Me Books series (Bed Me, Duke and Bed Me, Baron, etc.) and The Lovelocks of London series: When Ardor Blooms (prequel novella), Convergence of Desire, Clandestine Passion, and A Perilous Flirtation. Subscribers to her newsletter receive free second epilogues, prequels, and stories.
