Halen:
I’ve created a monster. When past and present collide, the fallout feels like the death of my morality. Every time I look into Kallum’s clashing, feverish eyes, I see a dark omen—the threat of what we’ll do to each other if our desires run wild.

While the Hollow’s Row case comes to a head, a new heinous player enters the scene. As the Alchemist threatens the town, I’m torn between a promise to help my friend, and my loyalty to Kallum—the man who has sacrificed everything for me.

I’ve created a monster—but he’s my monster. And if I can’t control Kallum’s chaotic nature, I’ll lose him…just as I’ve lost everyone I’ve loved.

There could be a future for us, but only if we don’t damn ourselves first.

Kallum:
The moment Halen St. James crashed my world, I made a vow to harbor her darkness, the lovely spark who ignited my black soul. But now, it’s time for Halen to finally step out of her shadows.

I would do—and have done—anything to keep her mine. I’ve become a villain to protect her. Even from herself.

When she looks into my eyes with recognition, I’m a man reborn, redeemed by her cleansing fire. Only there’s a vital piece of our story missing, and without it, I’ll always fear losing her—a primal fear that provokes the demon within.

The truth lies somewhere in the murky marsh waters, where killers and philosophers intwine, obscuring ancient wisdoms and feasting on the sweetest nectar.

I was created for her, to devour her heartbreak, and she was designed for me, the muse to the devil

I've been waiting for this one for almost a year and omg I'm questioning my sanity after finishing this book 😶 Trisha Wolfe is one of my favorite authors in dark romance but she's outdone herself with this series. Only she could make characters discussing philosophy sound so sexy!😆 I've read almost all of Trisha's books but this one is definitely my newest favorite. This whole series is so complex and I loved how philosophy, occultism and mythology are masterfully woven into the story! ⁣
I think my favorite part about these books will always be the writing - it's so lyrical and hauntingly beautiful at the same time. This one has a slightly creepier feel when compared to the others but it definitely sets the atmosphere which serves as the perfect backdrop for these characters. This series follows Halen, a criminologist who is called in to solve a case in Hollow's Row and she ends up needing the help of Professor Kallum Locke, an expert in esoteric philosophy, who's now in a psychiatric facility - and she's the one who put him there💀😂 Halen is convinced that he's linked to the Harbinger killings and that's why she testified against him. But when they begin working together, Halen begins to question a lot of things while wondering whether she has met the devil himself. ⁣

I really don't want to give away any spoilers about this one but this was the perfect conclusion to the series. Kallum's mind is so fascinating and terrifying at the same time while Halen is just as strong and fierce. The lengths that both of them were willing to go for each other!❣️ Everytime that I thought that I'd figured out what would happen next, there was always an additional surprise waiting for me! Almost all of the loose ends were tied up and I really didn't want to put this down by the time I was done reading it. If you haven't read these books yet and you're on the lookout for an amazing dark romance series you should definitely check this one out!❣️✨
